Centrally located, historic, spacious apartment with beautiful gardens close to many cafes and restaurants
Villa Victoria was built in 1910 and has been owned by the same family since, this elegant house in the quiet Herceg Novi suburb of Savina: a great place to get away from it all and unwind under the Mediterranean sunshine. The interior of the two-double bedroom apartment is characterised by high ceilings, polished wooden floors and spacisous rooms furnished with antique Montenegrin dressers, armchairs and paintings – making this one of our most distinctive properties in the Herceg Novi region.
Outside the house is a lush private garden with shady trees and glorious views of the beautiful Bay of Kotor. In the garden there’s a barbecue and patio furniture, which guests are welcome to use for outside dining.
There’s also a path that leads directly to the seaside promenade- along which there is a choice of restaurants serving up locally caught seafood and other regional specialities. The promenade stretches for seven kilometres and is a lovely place to go for a gentle stroll as you decide what and where to eat. It also gives access to clean and calm beaches for swimming and sunbathing.
From Villa Victoria it’s a ten-minute walk to the old town of Herceg Novi, with its historic and cultural attractions. The fortresses of Spanjola and Fort Mare and the Sahat-Kula clock tower are among the notable landmarks to look out for during your stay.

The verdant town of Herceg Novi sits at the entrance of the stunning Bay of Kotor. It’s a gorgeous spot, opposite the open Adriatic, sheltered by two lush green stretches of land reaching out into the intensely blue bay. The weather here is famously fabulous, with so many sunny days that Herceg Novi is known as the ‘City of Sun’.
It’s also well known for its beautiful old town, surrounded by ancient walls. Wandering through the narrow streets and stairways of this hillside town is a pleasure, with beautiful plazas and old buildings at every turn, including both Orthodox and Catholic churches. There are also two medieval fortresses to explore, with Kanli Kula, which dominates the old town, offering wonderful views of the town and the sparkling bay below. The main square in the old town is a lovely space to linger in, with dozens of cafés to choose from. On Saturday mornings the ambiance becomes more convivial still, as a local market takes over the square, selling seasonal local produce, including olive oil, wine and cheese.
Eating well here is easy. As well as the abundant choice of eateries in Herceg Novi, there are several atmospheric restaurants lining the seaside promenade, serving the freshest locally caught seafood. This is as glorious as promenades get, stretching for seven kilometres between beautiful beaches lapped by clean and calm water. There are lovely views all the way and ample chances for swimming and sunbathing, as well as dining on delicious regional specialities while looking out over the shimmering sea.
This bustling promenade, the gorgeous surroundings and proximity to the Croatian border make Herceg Novi a superb choice for a Montenegro holiday, and with over 200 days of sunshine a year, glorious weather is virtually guaranteed.
